Програмне забезпечення Sawmill компанії Flowerfire призначене для обробки лог-файлів. Дані з лог-файлів імпортуються у внутрішню базу Sawmill, або в MySQL. Подальша обробка даних здійснюється через web-інтерфейс. Sawmill генерує звіти в форматі html в режимі реального часу і дозволяє застосовувати різноманітні фільтри. Sawmill обладнаний власною системою планування завдань, яка може застосовуватися для побудови і оновлення баз даних, генерації звітів в режимі офлайн, автоматичного пересилання звітів засобами електронної пошти та інше. Ви можете, наприклад, застосовувати систему планування для щоденного автоматичного оновлення створеного профілю (бази даних), що дозволить завжди мати статистику по цьому профілю з даними лише за останню добу, або встановити режим, при якому буде автоматично генеруватися звіт в html форматі з статистичними даними за тиждень. Інший можливий варіант застосування – організувати щоденне оновлення бази даних і надсилати електронною поштою статистичний звіт за добу.

Sawmill може отримувати дані лог-файлів декількома способами:

  • безпосередній доступ до локальних лог-файлів;
  • ftp або http доступ до віддалених лог-файлів;
  • з використанням командного рядка, що дозволяє отримати дані лог-файлів зовнішніми засобами, наприклад, scp, sftp і ssh, або коли необхідно отримати дані аудиту з бази даних, чи коли існує необхідність розархівувати, дешифрувати лог-файл, формат якого не підтримується вбудованими засобами Sawmill.

    Sawmill може бути встановлений на платформах: Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003, MacOS X, різновидах UNIX (Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, BSD/OS, Tru64 UNIX (Digital Unix), IRIX, HP/UX, AIX, OS/2, and BeOS). Бінарні версії розроблені для найбільш розповсюджених версій ОС (Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003; Apple MacOS X 10.2, 10.3, 10.4; Linux (recent; e.g. RedHat 9/ES/AS/WS), Linux (glib2.0; e.g. RedHat 6 or Cobalt), Linux (glib2.1; e.g. RedHat 7 or 8); Sun Solaris 8 or 9 (SPARC); FreeBSD. Для ОС, що не набули широкого розповсюдження система може бути згенерована власноруч, використовуючи вихідний код, який може бути завантажений з сайту виробника в зашифрованому форматі.

    Локалізація

    У Sawmill вбудована підтримка трьох мов: англійської, німецької і японської. Для решти мов передбачена можливість самостійної локалізації. Для локалізації мови використовується стандартний текстовий файл, в якому необхідно перекласти на необхідну вам мову текстові повідомлення, які використовуються в Sawmill.

    Системні вимоги:

  • Обсяг необхідної оперативної пам’яті залежить від розмірів лог-файлів, що обробляються одночасно. Виробником заявлені мінімальні вимоги – 128 Мб, оптимальний обсяг – 512 Мб, і лише у специфічних випадках 2 Гб і більше.
  • Для інсталяції програмного забезпечення необхідно 20 Мб вільного простору на НТМД. Обсяг простору для бази даних вираховується за принципом: необхідний простір відповідає розміру лог-файла, за умови, що до файлу не застосовувалося ущільнення інформації.
  • Продуктивність процесора визначає лише швидкість обробки лог-файлів

    Версії Sawmill

    Програмне забезпеченн Sawmill реалізоване у варіантах Professional і Enterprise.
    Версія Enterprise відрізняється більшою функціональністю і додатково дозволяє:

  • використовувати MySQL для ведення базиданих (для бінарних версій Sawmill – лише комерційні версії MySQL);
  • підтримувати багатопроцесорний режим;
  • можливість функціонувати з WebNibbler – програмним засобом, який встановлюється з веб-сервером для отримання більш деталізованих лог-файлів;
  • можливість самостійно редагувати графічний веб-інтерфейс Sawmill.

    Формати лог-файлів

    При створенні профіля Sawmill самостійно визначає який формат у лог-файла. Якщо необхідного формату немає у переліку форматів, необхідно лише направити зразок лог-файла виробникові. На протязі декількох днів новий формат буде безкоштовно долучений до переліку.
